Mr. Metodi Baykushev is a partner in Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. Law Firm, where he currently heads the Litigation and Arbitration Practice Group, the Public Procurement Practice Group. Metodi graduated from Sofia University, Faculty of Law (LL.M. 2004). He has been practicing as an attorney-at-law since 2006. In 2007-2008 he taught Civil Procedure Law at the South-West University, Blagoevgrad. In the period 2008 – 2012 he was a guest lecturer at the Business Law class at the American University in Bulgaria. In 2010 Mr. Baykushev trained state bailiffs in the area of payment order procedure within the Project “Strengthening the Capacity of the Specialized Administration of the Minister of Justice for the Performance of his Powers under the Judicial Power of State Bailiffs and Registry Judges Act” funded under Operative Program “Administrative Capacity”. His practice includes legal representation in litigation and arbitration, debt collection, insolvency and advice on all types of security of debts, construction law, real estate, administrative law, public procurement and tax law. He is also experienced in commercial and corporate law having been engaged in a number of key Bulgarian market company acquisition and business restructuring transactions. Metodi possesses in-depth expertise in the area of construction law having been a consultant in the performance of contracts based on the General Conditions of FIDIC, as well as in the procedures related to the settlement of disputes that might arise from such contracts. A large part of Mr. Baykushev’s experience is gained from working on international projects, transactions and cases.
Mr. Baykushev is a member of the Sofia Bar Association. He speaks English fluently and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.
